Time has been fleeting

Wow, it really has been a long time since I’ve written one of these, but I thought now was the time to crack on with a new update and (hopefully) getting back to regular posts. A lot of stuff has happened to me since my last post way back in September. I became single, I filmed my first short film of the academic year and I’m also arranging to go to the states over the summer.

So yeah, I’ve been pretty busy. I’m in pre-prod and nearly in production for my second fiction piece of the academic term which will hopefully turn out really nicely. It’s a mockumentary about a New Zealender who was World Car Wash Champion of 2007 but had to give it up because he developed RSI from the sport. We start filming next week and I have a very talented actor who I will publicise after we shoot. You never know, I may even post some screen grabs from the rushes if you’re lucky.

Since my last post there was also the announcement of a little game you may not have heard of called Halo: Reach. Now, I was really looking forward to this one and since they posted up the multiplayer trailer up on youtube (see here if you’re not up-to-date) I am really psyched for this release.

Also, it’s the Oscars tomorrow night and my money is firmly on Inglourious Basterds. After the buzz around The Hurt Locker after the BAFTAs many have pegged it to win Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars, ahead of Cameron’s Avatar. However, because of the preferential voting system the Oscars now operates; where they put the nominations in order of preference to win, myself (and other commentators) have pinned hopes on Inglourious Basterds winning on a split vote.

That’s all I can really think of right now. I have a busy few weeks ahead but I shall try my best to post anything on this page. Stick with me on this one.
